WrestlingGear.Com, a major online vendor of wrestling knee pads, clothing, uniforms, headgear and wrestling shoes and other assorted merchandise and accessories, today announced a charitable donation of 100 pairs of knee pads to the Beat the Streets USA Program, an organization committed to providing at-risk youth the opportunities to benefit from the hard work and structure associated with the sport of wrestling. The knee pads supplied by WrestlingGear.Com will be distributed to newly participating Beat the Streets Program cities.

Jeff Pape, CEO of WrestlingGear.Com, has spearheaded the donation. “We are proud and excited to send 100 pairs of wrestling knee pads to the Beat the Streets USA Program,” Pape says. “With this donation we can play a part in providing at-risk kids with the equipment they need to compete in cities such as Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and Columbus.”

All right wrestling shoe fans, this is your chance to find out what is going to be coming out for 2011 - 2012 for Asics Wrestling Shoes.

We have the new Aggressor wrestling shoes, the new Cael V4.0 wrestling shoes and the new Split Second 8.0 wrestling shoes.

All of those links in the paragraph above link to product pages where you can check out the shoes in a variety of angles. Most of them show about 8 different photos for you to check out. Reviews are posted along with the technical information about the shoes. You can even order them now, so you will be the first ones to have them when they come out.

We expect them around July 2011, but we will have them the same time our competitions says they will have their shoes. Each year several of our competitors quote an earlier date (to steal sales from their competitors like us that give the date the manufacturers give us). Usually shoes do come in a little earlier than the date we promise. In other words, you won’t get them sooner ordering from somewhere else. In fact, we keep track of sales and almost never oversell a shoe (some of our customers come to us having ordered from a competitor that sold out of the shoe already).

Hot Shoes Going Quickly

Wrestling Shoes Gossip for 2010

My, my, my if what I have been hearing about the 2010 wrestling season is true. It will be interesting.

On the Asics front, the Rulon’s will be going away and not known as Rulon’s next season. Will Rulon make the switch from Asics to adidas like Cejudo did?

On the adidas front, they have already released this photo below. Now the question is will this be an early release like they did with other shoes in the past? Not likely though as all of our vendors are delaying inventory investments as long as they can. Trust us, if they bring in only a few hundred pair, we will ask for them. The other question is, will they release a teal version of this shoe? Now if they could only bring back a version of the White adistar.

On the Nike front, just got the catalog. Guess what new color of the Takedown and the Inflicts are in the catalog in three colors. Wow! Let’s hope they come back this year. They will be on our wish list for next year.

Vegan Wrestling Shoes

Is the wrestling world ready for a Vegan wrestling shoe? Or even an environmentally friendly wrestling shoe?

Is that important to you? Is it important to others?

adidas launched a shoe that is made of synthetic leather and recycled material. The GT Response is also a wide shoe. So I think adidas was trying to cover all the areas with this vegan, recycled, wide wrestling shoe all in one shoe.

So far this shoe has not knocked it out of the park. Would it sell better if it was a crazy color combination? Ala the Combat Speeds?

Cael Sanderson Wrestling Shoes V-4.0 Black Silver

This page is dedicated to the Cael Sanderson V4.0. This is the 4th version of the shoe (hence the original name). With the start of the 2nd version, our customers have started calling them V2, V3, V4′s. I must admit when they first started doing this we had no idea what the kids were talking about. Now that it is in it’s fourth iteration and no other shoes are in the same version, the V4.0 is a unique name to ask for them.

This wrestling shoe will likely be 2009-2010 wrestling season and 2010-2011 wrestling season. This has not been confirmed yet – we are assuming Asics will keep these in the line for two years which is what they normally do.

Cael Sanderson was a 4 time NCAA undefeated Division I Champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist and World Silver Medalist. He is the head coach at Penn State moving there this year after several season at Iowa State.

Response II 2 adidas Wrestling Shoes Black and Gold

The Response I wrestling shoes have been in adidas’ line up for several years. Quite possibly 5 years if my memory is not failing me right now. Originally they were offered in Silver and Red and Orange. Vegas gold was added a few years ago and Lime Green was quite popular too. Then two years ago the Black and Navy and Green colors were added and essentially dropped in favor of the Response II. The Response I’s are technically still in the catalog this year, but they have been replaced with the Response II’s.

If adidas is consistent with their offerings, this shoe should be offered in both the 2009-2010 season and the 2010-2011 wrestling season.

Extero Jr. Wrestling Shoes Sizing Recommendation

Just a quick note, for the Extero Jr’s you may have to go up a full size on these little guys shoes. I have a son with a wide foot and we brought them home for my kids that measure a 11.0 k and 11.5k – normally you may try to get into an 11.0 and a 12.0k for these two guys. My son that has an 11.0k foot had to go up to the 12.0k because of the width in his shoe. And my son who is an 11.5k had to go up to a 12.0 k (which is as expected).

The reason you have to size up a full size maybe even a size and half is the velcroe straps on the shoes are not wide enough to work with a wider foot or a foot with a higher instep. You may want to go with a tied wrestling shoe if your son or daughter has a wide foot.
