The Response I wrestling shoes have been in adidas’ line up for several years. Quite possibly 5 years if my memory is not failing me right now. Originally they were offered in Silver and Red and Orange. Vegas gold was added a few years ago and Lime Green was quite popular too. Then two years ago the Black and Navy and Green colors were added and essentially dropped in favor of the Response II. The Response I’s are technically still in the catalog this year, but they have been replaced with the Response II’s.

If adidas is consistent with their offerings, this shoe should be offered in both the 2009-2010 season and the 2010-2011 wrestling season.

This shoe was originally just going to be called the Vapor Speed II but when adidas signed Olympic Champion Henry Cejudo they put his name on it. Interesting fact with adidas only John Smith, Kendall Cross, Brandon Slay and Henry Cejudo have their name on an adidas shoe. The Cejudo comes in other color combinations like Black/Grey/Orange and White and Black.

If you are looking to save some money, this shoe has a very similar sole (or bottom) of the shoe as the much more expensive adidas adistar wrestling shoes.

This shoe will likely be out for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 wrestling seasons. Assuming of course adidas keeps these shoes in the line like they normally do with new shoes they bring out.
